The Irish model was already familiar with the outdoor gunge machine having sat beneath it during day one of their weekly shopping task – when the group plumped for her as this year’s sauciest contestant.
Having guessed correctly the house won £50 towards their shopping budget – but the incident left sultry Hazel feeling insecure and after washing the goo out of her hair she shared her thoughts with Callum.
Here it comes: Hazel O'Sullivan gets ready for a morning gunging in the Big Brother garden
What the public gets, the public wants: Hazel is showered with gunge in the Big Brother garden
This could get messy: Hazel O'Sullivan doesn't see the funny side after another gunging
Of her repeated gunging’s she was more reflective: ‘They want to change the channel every time they see me but yet they vote me to do everything to watch me do it…contradictory.’
Later on the 24-year-old continued with the same train of thought during a chat with smooth talking Dexter, who admitted he’d come to the realization that he was ‘on a personal journey.’
Lots to ponder: Hazel's gunging left her feeling insecure about her place in the house
Shocked: Dan admitted he didn't know why the public weren't warming to Hazel
In the Diary Room, Dan was also talking about the general perception of Hazel by the general public.
'I don’t understand why the public feel like they do about her because I think she is brilliant,’ he said. ‘There is even a little bit of me that thinks we are not that safe in that safe house which unnerves me a little bit but I am not going to dwell on that…but it has crossed my mind that we are not all immune in there.’
How wrong you are Dan…
Freestyle: Charlie Travers attempts to rap about potential suitor Dexter
My turn: Dexter has flowers and chocolates as he attempts to woo Charlie
The weekly task later saw Sophie
attempt to guess another Big Brother riddle, this one being: ‘What flies
around all day but never goes anywhere?’ ‘The clouds?’ she offered.
After being told the correct answer was flag, Sophie admitted she would never have guessed correctly – in her own inimitable way.
‘How the f**k am I supposed to get that? I’m as thick as s**t!’
Despite the setback, housemates managed to pull in an impressive £910 towards the shopping by passing a series of outlandish tasks – amongst them a successful chilly eating test undertaken by former policeman Dan and rap carried out by Charlie for the benefit of Dexter.
Hard to resist: Dexter and Charlie in the treehouse during the weekly shopping task
In the mood for love: Dex does his best, but it's not enough for hard to please Charlie Travers
The highlight came later that day when Dex was told to guess who he thought the general public wanted him to seduce.
He correctly chose Charlie, and promptly ejected love-rival Callum from the tree house in a failed attempt to woo her.
While it appeared to be going well, the housemates failed their final task – in which they had to put themselves in the order viewers want them to win – leaving them a paltry £76 for their shopping.
The final countdown: Callum can't believe he's seventh in the final task
Top three: Dexter is third, much to Callum's annoyance
Speaking to Big Brother in the Diary Room that night, he described his portrayed his nemesis as a ‘villain.’
‘It’s like having all these superheroes at the top of the table through popularity and what people want to see and then you have one of the villains in the picture above some of the heroes because they are such a popular character and that’s where Dexter fits in,’ he said.
Meanwhile, Dexter had his own take on the final task, which saw Callum placed second from last.
'He obviously thought he was higher, he has put the most on the line,' he said. 'He has given up white collar job to come in here to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
'So for him to come in 5th, behind me especially would be a kick in the face for him.”
Knives at the ready: Dexter and Gina have plenty to say about Callum as the night draws to a close
