'It's so overwhelming': Kelly Clarkson stuns in new engagement portrait as she opens up about impending nuptials and becoming a stepmom

Kelly Clarkson clearly can't wait to tie the knot.

The 31-year-old and her fiancé, Brandon Blackstock, have released their official engagement photo ahead of their October 20 nuptials, in which she is pictured wearing a stunning wedding gown.

The picturesque image, which sees the couple embracing under a beautiful brick archway covered in lush green ivy, gives fans a nice preview of the pair's fast-approaching big day.

Kelly looks simply stunning in an off-white flowy floor-length number with intricate lace and diamante detailing across the chest and capped sleeves.

The blonde beauty has her head turned to the side as she leans into her 35-year-old beau, who is barely visible in a dark suit as he holds her from behind.

Of course, this is the second engagement image we've seen of the songstress since accepting Brandon's December 15 proposal.

On July 25, she excitedly revealed a solo photo from the shoot.

The gorgeous Jane Austin-inspired image features Kelly sitting in the window of a library, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling bookshelves filled with beautiful old novels.

With her bare feet crossed at the ankles and reading a book, the singer fills the width of the window in a voluminous strapless tulle gown.
Not only will Kelly become a wife when she exchanges vows with her partner of a year and
a half in just two months' time, but she'll also become a stepmother.

The Stronger hitmaker, who is set to marry Brandon in Nashville, Tennessee, says she really enjoys looking after his two children from a previous marriage - though she admits she can be strict.
On Tuesday, the 31-year-old told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show, 'I have a 12-year-old and a 6-year-old now... after being single for
six years!

Revealing that she's completely taken to the role of stepmom to Savannah and Seth, she went on to explain that she definitely finds herself playing the disciplinarian in the relationship.

'They're awesome and I actually really dig the mom thing... I am quick to go, "I told you not to touch that!"

Wife and mother: Brandon popped the question after just nine months of dating and Kelly will become stepmom to his two children when the couple exchange vows on October 20 in Nashville, Tennessee

'I am totally my mom. My mom was a hard mom,' she said, adding that the kids are 'awesome' and the trio 'totally work well together'.
Meanwhile, Kelly says she's too busy touring with Maroon 5 and preparing her new album to really enjoy the final stages of planning her wedding.

She told Ryan, 'It's two months away. It's end of October. I'm, like, so over it. It's so overwhelming. We're just doing a lot: touring and the wedding and the Christmas album... so I'm over the wedding part.'

Fortunately, her relationship with the talent manager is much less work.
'It's just easy. It's work, obviously. I mean, after a year and a half... reality sets in. It's a little bit of work, but it's fun work,' she says. 'We're very similar. It's easy.'

She jokingly added that eloping isn't out of the question should it all get too much.

'I'm planning on eloping and telling everyone, "Whoops, we're not having a wedding!"'
