It's fashion's new favourite colour. But can grown-up women really wear pink?

The debate about what it is to be a feminist has been raging of late. Can you be a feminist while shaving your armpits and waxing your nether regions?

Can you be a feminist and have eyelash extensions? (My advice? Don't. Fake lashes, stuck on with glue, make your own fall out. Buy the M2 growth serum instead.)

And can you wear pink - ever - once you are past the age of, ooooh, 12?

First of all, it depends on the precise shade of pink. Under no account, ever wear salmon - unless you are over the age of 90. Coral is big this summer (Pixie Geldof is in top-to-toe coral pink on the cover of the August issue of Elle, in a biker jacket and angora jumper by  Richard Nicoll).

But I'm afraid I hate coral: it smacks of  dentures. For me, the only pinks to wear are hot pink, or a very soft blush - which appeared several times, to great effect, on the autumn/winter catwalk at Topshop Unique, notably in a shimmery big skirt and a  gorgeous big wool coat.
